Judging
Judging criteria will be based on originality, organization, clarity and style. Judges will be chosen from the journalism and writing professions. The names of essay entrants will not be shared with the judges; rather, each essay will be assigned a correlating number upon receipt. Judges will learn the identities of winners after all contest results are finalized.
Entries will be judged by the following criteria:
Organization and Structure
The judges will determine if your essay is well organized with an introduction, body and conclusion, and if the essay strongly supports the theme.
Analysis and Clarity
Your essay should be supported by details and examples that endorse your point of view and should be clearly communicated.
Style and Mechanics
Points will be given for well written essays that use correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
