Eligibility
No purchase is necessary to enter or win. The essay contest is open to all Michigan students who are currently enrolled full-time and in good standing in a public or state-accredited private or parochial school, grades 11 to 12, and Michigan area college students and graduate students.
1st, 2nd and 3rd Place winners and two honorable mentions will be selected from each category:
Category One: High School Junior or Senior
Category Two: Undergrad College
Category Three: Graduate College

Scholarship Awards
There will be three contest winners and two honorable mentions in each category (15 winners in total):
First prize: $5,000
Second prize: $2,500
Third prize: $1,000
Two Honorable Mentions: $500 each
Winners, finalists and all other participants will be notified via E-mail by July 1, 2008. Prizes will be awarded at a ceremony on August 5, 2008.
All winning essays will be posted on Chrysler's "My Journey through The D" Essay Contest Website: www.myjourneythroughtheD.com. Readers will be invited to comment about each essay's content.

Submission Guidelines
Essays must be submitted online to dvh@myjourneythroughtheD.com with all Title Page information by May 1, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.
Each essay must be between 500 and 750 words and not previously published in print or electronic media.
Students can enter only one essay and it must be solely the work of the entrant.
Topics cannot include profanity.
All essays become the property of Chrysler and will not be returned to the author.
All essays must be typed, double-spaced and submitted in English.
Do not include your name, school or other identification on the essay; put all personal information on the Title Page only.
A Title Page with all the required information must be filled out and submitted with your essay.
Employees of Chrysler LLC, its subsidiaries and their immediate family members are not eligible for this contest.
Essays submitted online will receive an acceptance reply as verification of receipt.
Scholarship Awards will be paid directly to the winners' educational institutions.
The decisions of the judges are final.
